Sonic X Redux: The ‘Gotta Go Fast’ Cut

Sonic X Redux: The ‘Gotta Go Fast’ Cut is a fanedit of the 4Kids English dub of the Sonic X anime, originally aired from 2003-2006. Plotlines centering around Chris and the series’ other original characters are minimized to focus on Sonic and other characters from the games. Fights are edited to be more streamlined and generic scenes (Eggman monologuing, Sonic running around, Tails flying the X-Tornado, etc.) are removed whenever possible. The average re-edited episode is between 8 and 14 minutes.

New runtime: 3 hr 19 min

Original runtime: 9 hr 17 min (5 hr 43 min, not including skipped episodes)

  • Bonus Episode “That’s What Friends Are For” (orig. ep. 14) Sonic turns down an invitation from the President so he can help a girl in a wheelchair reach an island with beautiful flowers. While not plot-relevant, this is one of the series’ best episodes.
