Spawn Redux: The Al Simmons Cut is a fanedit of the 1997 HBO Spawn animated series starring Keith David. Each season is cut down to a single film. A significant amount of filler involving side characters is cut in order to focus more tightly on Al Simmons’ journey as Spawn.
Changes
- Season 1: My version cuts out a significant amount of bad guys standing around talking, gets rid of some scenes of Sam and Twitch investigating, and cuts out some pointless grimdark excesses. The biggest change is removing the grenade-wielding priest Cain who takes up most of episode 5. His impact on the overall plot is minimal and I thought he was way too goofy. Angela’s cameo is also removed.
